Injury prone Newcastle midfielder Siem De Jong has refused to rule out an abrupt exit from Tyneside in the near future.
The Dutchman arrived in the summer of 2014 for an undisclosed fee and after signing a 6-year-deal, his career has unfortunately been blighted by consistent injuries.
The 26-year-old has only featured ten times for the Magpies, scoring just one goal, which came last season vs Swansea City.

When asked about his future at Newcastle, De Jong said the following:
If things don’t go my way, a return to Holland is certainly an option. I have always loved life in my own country.
I could very well have picked up those injury with Ajax as well but it’s very disappointing I was struck with injury woes at my new club.

The experienced attacking player spent multiple seasons at Ajax, where he wore the captain’s armband for a number of years.
Having arrived with great weight on his shoulders, De Jong has undoubtedly been hard done by with his non-stop injuries and lack of game time.
It looks like if things don’t start to improve for the Dutchman, a return to his native homeland could indeed be on the cards.
