According to reports in the Chronicle today, three of Newcastle’s star players are subject to January interest from rival Premier League clubs.
The three players in question are striker Ayoze Perez, right-back Daryl Janmaat and midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The in-form Perez garnered interest from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, and it is now believed that Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United side have joined the race for the gifted Spaniard’s services. The Chronicle state that the Red Devil’s have compiled a detailed scout report on the Spain u21 international, with a potential bid in the pipeline.
Liverpool were credited with a strong interest in United defender Daryl Janmaat last January and it’s now reported that the Dutch international is on the radar of London clubs Chelsea and Spurs. With European football high on the Dutchman’s agenda, Janmaat may push for a move away from St. James Park unless Newcastle can turn their season around over the coming months.
During the summer, AC Milan and Tottenham both registered an interest in Moussa Sissoko, who has made no secret of his desire to join a top European club. However, the French international confirmed in an interview earlier this season that Newcastle had unequivocally rejected all summer approaches for his services.
With Steve McClaren’s side finally beginning to climb the Premier League table after a difficult start, lets hope that the club resist the temptation to move on any of the Magpies’ prize-assets in the upcoming window.
