Newcastle United clinched their first away win of the season today, beating AFC Bournemouth 1-0 thanks to Ayoze Perez’s first-half strike and Rob Elliot’s superb display in goal.
The Cherries dominated possession and created the most chances, but Newcastle were clinical when in attack and managed to snatch all three points.
Ayoze Perez’s opener on the 26th minute was Newcastle’s first shot of the game and, in the 65 minutes that proceeded, the Magpies only mustered up one more shot – a stray effort off-target.

While the performance certainly wasn’t as impressive as the past few weeks, Steve McClaren’s side came away with all three points today and moved out of the relegation zone – a point behind last season’s champions Chelsea.
