The Mirror are today reporting that Victor Valdes’ agent is keen for Newcastle to make a move for him when his Manchester United contract expires.
The Spaniard has been frozen out of Louis Van Gaal’s first team, but reports today indicate that he wishes to remain in the Premier League when he leaves Manchester United.
Newcastle are in need of another goalkeeper, following a season-long injury sustained by Dutch stopper Tim Krul.

As it stands, Rob Elliot is Krul’s stand-in, with 18-year-old Freddie Woodman – who was recalled from his loan at Crawley Town – as his emergency back-up.
Valdes’ agent, Gines Carvajal, told Spanish news outlet Sport that his client intends to stay in the Premier League, because he is ‘perfectly adapted’ to the demands of the league – a remarkable feat for a player with only 106 minutes of Premier League football to his name. Carvajal went on to reiterate his client’s desire to leave the Red Devils:
The Premier League is very attractive and Valdes want to stay because he has adapted perfectly to England, but we are not closing the door to any options.
There are still two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete, but the intention is to leave Manchester United.
