Newcastle were enjoying plenty of possession in the Norwich half and it was Georginio Wijnaldum who put the hosts in front.
Moussa Sissoko picked up a loose ball at the edge of the Norwich penalty area and fed the ball through to an on-running Wijnaldum who finished nicely.

Norwich wasted no time in getting back into the game as Robbie Brady’s 25-yard strike rattled the post before Martin Olsson crossed the ball for a Dieumerci Mbokani tap-in.
Newcastle regained the lead shortly after when Sissoko and Wijnaldum combined again to give Wijnaldum his second goal.
A quick counter-attacking from Newcastle gave them their third goal of the afternoon which was cooly tucked away from Ayoze Pèrez after having his original effort blocked.

A minute later Norwich were back in the game when Olsson provided another perfect cross to find Nathan Redmond learning at the back post, who was composed enough to volley the ball past Rob Elliot.
Mitrovic restored Newcastle’s two-goal cushion in the 64th minute and shortly after Wijnaldum completed his hat-trick and went on to score another to help their side cruise to victory.
