# Mowbray fears Newcastle could recall Armstrong

It’s fair to say that Newcastle youngster Adam Armstrong has been a revelation since joining Coventry City on loan in the summer.

The Geordie-born man has scored 8 goals in his first 9 games for the League One side.

Coventry City gaffer Tony Mowbray has expressed his fear that Newcastle could recall Armstrong due to their troubles in front of goal this season.

In a [recent interview](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-considering-recalling-adam-10258281?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter), Mowbray had this to say on the matter:

> There will be political issues around it and what we need is for Newcastle to start winning some football matches and for them to think that the 18-year-old is for tomorrow, let him develop and play football.

> We have conversations with Newcastle all the time. His agent is in this week and we’re talking to him and his club all the time, trying to keep them happy and keep him developing. But we have no power on it.

A lot of fans are calling for the on-form striker to be recalled to Tyneside, as they feel he could be the solution to our attacking problems.

Mowbray, however, feels that Armstrong is in safe hands at Coventry City:

> Newcastle have their own template of what they want.

> They own him and we just show them what he’s doing for us and as long as they feel he’s in good hands and getting looked after, it’s fine.
