Newcastle have recently sent scouts to Barcelona and HITC Sport believe the club are looking at Barcelona forward Sandro.
Newcastle spent well in the summer spending £50m but the new signings and the rest of the club are yet to win a Premier League game and the optimism around the club has disappeared quicker than Sunderland fans leaving the Stadium of Light.
It is expected that Newcastle are ready to invest again in January but it is unknown who their targets are. Austin and Lasogga will no doubt be linked with the club again.

With Barcelona being able to field a fit again Messi, as well as their summer signings Arda Turan and Vidal who will be available for selection in January, Sandro may find chances limited.
Newcastle would take the 20-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season. He can play up front, just behind the striker or on the wing which will provide plenty of attacking options for Steve McClaren.
