# Newcastle v Man City: Opposition View

After a terrific 2-2 result against Chelsea last week, our next game is only going to be harder. Newcastle will now travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City side, in an extremely tough fixture. There is a small sense of optimism amongst the Toon fans, but what do the Manchester City fans think about the fixture?

We had a chat with the editor of our sister site [Read Man City](https://readmancity.com/), [Josh Lawless](https://twitter.com/JoshLawlessMCFC), about his views on the game:

**If you could take one Newcastle player at Man City, who would it be (if anyone) and why?**

Honestly, I don’t think any Newcastle players would be a regular fixture in the City side, which says a lot about the quality we have. Though I do reckon someone like Sissoko could do a job for City as a squad player.

**If you could place one City player from the past in your current team, who would it be and why?**

Tough question as you could place a lot of legends in the team that, unfortunately, were before my time. Mike Summerbee, Tony Book, Colin Bell to name a few. But I’d probably go for Carlos Tevez. I still think we miss someone of his ilk especially in Champions League and he could make a real difference in a Pellegrini side.

**Are there any rising stars at City that we should be keeping an eye on?**

We’ve revamped our youth system completely with a £200m investment in the ‘City Football Academy’ which has unbelievable facilities. Kelechi Iheanacho continues to blossom and has even scored at first-team level with a winning goal against Palace at Selhurst Park. But we also have Manu Garcia, Pablo Maffeo and Patrick Roberts who are also supremely talented. Brandon Barker too is a player I love watching.

**I know there are a few stars, but who do you reckon is your most important player?**

As you said we do have so many game-changers in the side but I would always maintain that David Silva is are most important player, especially in that number ten role. He gives us the stability and balance we need and we struggled in his absence against Spurs.

**What do you reckon will be the key battle on Saturday?**

Mitrovic and Otamendi should be one to keep an eye on. The two both possess a real feisty and aggressive style which could make for an intriguing watch. There could well be a red card in this one.

**Predicted line-up**

Hart, Sagna, Demichelis, Otamendi, Zabaleta, Toure, Fernandinho, Navas, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero.

**Score prediction**

2-0 City!
