Newcastle forwards Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic had themselves a day against the Blues of Chelsea that led to a 2-2 draw. With Papiss Cisse injured, Perez is getting more minutes playing alongside Mitrovic up top in Newcastle’s current 4-4-2 formation. Scoring against the top teams in the Premier League isn’t a foreign idea for Perez as he has slotted home goals against teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and now Chelsea.

When asked about playing with Mitrovic, Perez told Chronicle the following:
We felt comfortable together. Mitro and me worked closely together.
Perez is confident about their chances against Manchester City:
It’s another tough game for us but we must keep up the standards and work-rate. If we do then we will be a very good team.
The pressure of facing 2nd place City is not seeming to affect Perez very much. With the absence of Cisse, Mitrovic and Perez look to conitnue to build chemistry up top and pick apart the back line of City just as they did to Chelsea.
