Newcastle U-21 striker Ivan Toney says he wants to score goals under Peter Beardsley, but would be willing to leave on loan to gain first-team football.
One of 5 Summer signings, Toney arrived from Northampton Town for a reported fee of £500,000 in July of this year. He’s yet to register a goal for the club at U-21 level, but he has showed bundles of promise.

In a recent interview with the Chronicle, the youngster had this to say:
I’m just concentrating on playing my football. Obviously if first-team football comes, it comes.
But for now I’m just taking everything one step at a time and I’ll take any loan moves or call-ups to the first team as they come. To play for the first team – come in, be involved and be in and around the first team or if I go on loan or whatever then so be it.
Toney netted 13 goals in a total of 60 appearances for former club Northampton Town, and he is keen to further his development in order to force his way into the first-team at Newcastle. It will be interesting to see whether he will continue to play for the U-21’s, or if he’ll be sent out on loan to a lower league side.
