Earlier today, it was reported by Sky Sports correspondent Pete Graves that there was a ‘strong possibility’ that Pierre-Michel Lasogga would join Newcastle, from Hamburg, before tomorrow’s deadline.

The Daily Mail then followed up Pete’s claims by reporting a bid in the region of £7million had been tabled by the Magpies.
However, fresh reports suggest the 23-year-old is set to remain with the German outfit, despite ‘massive noises’ from the German end.
Many expected Lasogga’s signing to be dependent on Papiss Cisse’s departure, with the Senegal striker and his agent both publicly flirting with the possibility of a deadline day move away from St James’ Park.
Cisse has tweeted today to confirm he is still on Tyneside and enjoying his bank holiday, though he has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Newcastle before tomorrow’s 6pm deadline. ‘Am staying in Newcastle’ may have been a better choice of words for Papiss if that was his intended message.
