# Lyon join chase for Newcastle youngster

Just a few days after reporting [AS Monaco had made a €500,000 bid for Olivier Kemen](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Monaco-a-fait-une-offre-pour-olivier-kemen-newcastle/584926), [L’Equipe](https://twitter.com/Gibney_A/status/637924328403795968) are now reporting that Olympique Lyonnais have joined the chase for the Frenchman’s signature.

The 19-year-old has attracted attention from a number of clubs, including Tottenham and Liverpool, this summer, after his impressive performances at the under-19 European Championships.

Newcastle are not looking to sell Kemen but, having failed to break into the first-team once since arriving on Tyneside in 2013, the ‘right offer’ may force their hand.

Meanwhile, another player could be set to depart from St James’ Park in the shape of [Papiss Cisse](https://readnewcastle.com/2015/08/30/cisse-still-depart-newcastle/).

His agent has today questioned why a player of his goalscoring record hasn’t received the recognition he deserves and admitted his client doesn’t ‘want to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted’.

His exit would surely signal that another striker arrival is expected before the transfer window slams shut – especially with Aleksandar Mitrovic suspended for the next three matches for his challenge on Francis Coquelin yesterday.
