# Cisse could still depart from Newcastle

Throughout the summer, Newcastle have been linked with new strikers to partner Aleksandar Mitrovic – from [Charlie Austin](https://readnewcastle.com/2015/08/11/qpr-standing-firm-on-charlie-austin/) to Benik Afobe.

Should a new centre-forward arrive at St James’ Park, it would surely pave the way for Papiss Cisse to depart the club with Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez already ahead of him on the pecking order.

As it stands, a new signing is not on the horizon and a striker signing this late in the window seems unlikely, but Cisse’s agent still claims his client could leave before the window slams shut.

Madou Diene – quoted by [The Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/papiss-cisse-could-still-leave-9954949) – said: “If the right offer comes I will ask Papiss to consider it.

> Nobody wants to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted.

Recently, Cisse has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, but Diene claims there is no truth in these rumours.

“There has been no offer from Galatasaray yet, it is only talk in the media. But there has been nothing concrete.

“Perhaps if there was it would be considered because at Papiss’ age he wants to play regular football.

“No matter which team he plays for he needs service because he will score goals.

“During his time at Newcastle, he’s never had proper service which makes his goal tally even more remarkable.”

Cisse – quoted by [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/11834146/Newcastle-fear-being-lift-thin-up-top-as-Papiss-Cisse-refuses-to-deny-6m-transfer-to-Turkey.html) – has refused to rule out an exit before Tuesday’s 6pm deadline.

“I don’t know. Seriously, I don’t know. I don’t like to speak about it. Sorry guys,” he said.

> I always want to play. I’m always ready to play.

“If the manager gives me the chance to play, I will play. I work very hard on the training pitch every day, but I don’t know if I’ve done something wrong. The decision is for the gaffer to make and I accept that, but it’s very hard for me.”

Meanwhile, [Charlie Austin has been docked a week’s wages](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/charlie-austin-rob-green-pay-6342743) by QPR in anticipation of the 26-year-old departing from Loftus Road this week, according to [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/charlie-austin-rob-green-pay-6342743). Fingers crossed!
