Newcastle United have agreed a €17million fee with Marseille for French forward Florian Thauvin, according to RMC Sport.
The French news outlet also state Remy Cabella will join Marseille on a season-long loan as part of the deal, with a view to permanent.
Cabella arrived on Tyneside last summer after Newcastle agreed a £12million fee with Montpellier, but he has failed to justify his lofty price-tag.
His poor performances were part of a torrid campaign that saw the club almost relegated to the Championship. The 25-year-old scored just one Premier League goal last season, and the majority of the Newcastle faithful have been let down by the Frenchman. However, the month in which he did not led to him to winning the player of the month accolade in January.
He has four international caps for the French national side, and will look to push for a place in the Didier Deschamps’ squad ahead of the home Euros.
