# Offer tabled for Zenit striker

Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon, who plays for Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg, has offers from Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham, according to Russian news outlet [Championat](https://www.championat.com/football/news-2212599-rondon-interesen-chetyrjom-anglijskim-klubam.html).

Earlier media reported that he was in England to discuss potential moves to the Premier League with his agent last month. Rondon moved to Zenit from Rubin Kazan in January 2014 and went on to win the Russian league and Super Cup.

Ovacion Deportes are also reporting that the three Premier League clubs have contacted Zenit over the possibility of signing Rondon and his agent Pablo Martinez confirmed that there were a ‘number of proposals’ for his client and they were ‘considering their options’.

AC Milan, Inter Milan and Everton were among other clubs interested, but nothing concrete was made by those clubs, thus making Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa the front runners for his signature.

Venezuelan news outlet [Ultimas Noticias](https://www.ultimasnoticias.com.ve/noticias/deportes/futbol/salomon-rondon-podria-fichar-en-el-newcastle.aspx), among others, state Newcastle are the side currently leading the chase for his signature. They also suggest Rondon could already be in England to discuss personal terms.

His arrival would surely pave the way for Emmanuel Riviere or in-demand Papiss Cisse to leave the club permanently.
