# Reports surface linking Newcastle with Najar

The front page of Honduran publication [Diario Mas](https://www.diariomas.hn/2015/08/02/newcastle-de-inglaterra-realiza-oferta-por-andy-najar/) claims Newcastle United are set to raid RSC Anderlecht for a THIRD time this summer, with Honduran international Andy Najar in their sights – a player likened to Goal star Santiago Munez (yes, a fictional character).

According to the Honduran news outlet, Newcastle have already tabled an offer around €10million (roughly £6million when converted to sterling) which they hope is enough to prize the 22-year-old away from the Belgian outfit.

Najar’s agent Chris Megaloudis has spoken about their client’s desire to play in the Premier League and reunite with his former teammates Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba at Newcastle.

*“Najar’s dream is to play in the Premier League. Two of his friends have already signed for Newcastle. \[Anderlecht will now\] analyse the bids,” Chris said.*

The former DC United starlet plies his trade on the right-hand side of midfield for club and country, so his arrival would surely pave the way for Gabriel Obertan or Remy Cabella to depart the club this summer.

Najar made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, netting eight times and assisting six in the process.

Lee Ryder of [The Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-transfers-honduras-winger-9782873)has since stated Newcastle will not pursue Najar, but there are a few deals being worked on behind the scenes.
