Newcastle targets Chancel Mbemba Mangulu and Aleksandar Mitrovic did not report for training with Anderlecht this morning as the Belgian side are trying to prevent injuries, according to HLN.
The pair are being heavily linked with a move away from Anderlecht with Newcastle, Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg eyeing up a move for Mbemba, while the Magpies and Porto are leading the chase for Mitrovic.
Newcastle are in initial talks with Anderlecht with regard to signing Mbemba, with a fee in the region of £10million being reported, but it is believed Newcastle have agreed a £12million fee for Mitrovic.
Roma are another side that hold an interest in the 20-year-old striker, but they have decided to pursue Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko – though they have told Mitrovic to hold out incase they fail to land the Bosnian.
Depending on who you believe, Newcastle appear the most likely destination for Mitrovic but, if the reported €18million bid from Porto is true, then the Magpies face missing out on the Serbian hotshot.
Newcastle will be hoping to add Mitrovic to the squad as they continue the rebuilding process after signing Dutch midfielder Gini Wijnaldum from PSV for £14.5m.
