Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of Dutch international Bruno Martins Indi, according to Voetbal International.
The Magpies, who just avoided relegation, conceded 63 goals in the league last year – only bottom placed Queens Park Rangers conceded more. Therefore, improvement is needed to patch up the leaky defence and it seems that Martins Indi is one of the targets.
Martins Indi was well sought after a good World Cup with the Netherlands last summer. He made a move to Portuguese side FC Porto from Feyenoord and played over 30 times in his debut season. Porto are known to be a money ball team so it seems unlikely that they’ll part with with Indi unless they receive a significant bid.

With Mike Williamson likely to leave, incoming manager Steve McClaren will want defensive reinforcement for his new side. Micah Richards has also been linked with a move to St James’ Park.
The Dutch news outlet also reports Newcastle are tracking Bruno’s fellow compatriots Marco van Ginkel, Georginio Wijnaldum and Quincy Promes.
