Newcastle United will be hoping to spring a surprise as they welcome Arsenal to St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
Rafa Benitez’s men are in a good run of form and have won three Premier League games on the bounce. Wins over Southampton, Huddersfield and Leicester in succession leave the Magpies in 10th place.
Arsenal, too, are in a rich vein of form. They defeated Southampton 3-2 at the Emirates last weekend and have been looking strong in front of goal recently.
Newcastle are well-placed to end the season strongly and after initial fears of being dragged into a relegation battle this term, it seems a top-half finish is on the agenda for Benitez and his men.
Here’s how we reckon Newcastle will line up against Arsenal this Sunday.
Martin Dubravka
On-loan goalkeeper Dubravka is likely to keep his place.
DeAndre Yedlin
Yedlin is set to start at right-back.
Jamaal Lascelles
Lascelles will be the man who leads Newcastle out against Arsenal.
Florian Lejeune
Lejeune is poised to partner Lascelles in central defence.
Paul Dummett
Dummett is in excellent form and is likely to start at left-back.
Mohamed Diame
Diame is also playing well and is set to be given the nod.
Jonjo Shelvey
Shelvey netted a good goal at Leicester and will keep his place.
Matt Ritchie
Ritchie is set to be called on to provide width against Arsenal.
Ayoze Perez
Perez netted an exquisite goal last weekend and is set to start.
Kenedy
Kenedy is in line to keep his place out on the left-hand side.
Dwight Gayle
Gayle will make up the team and aim to hassle the Arsenal defence.
