Newcastle United’s Mikel Merino has talked up the chances of one day returning to his home country to play in La Liga.
As reported by AS, Merino admits that a move back to Spain is something he would like to achieve during his career.
Yes. I am very happy to be in the Premier and the experience in the Bundesliga, but someday I would like to return to the Spanish League.

In recent weeks Athletic Bilbao have been linked with a £13 million move for the former Borussia Dortmund man.
Merino has been one of Newcastle’s star performers in their return to the Premier League this season.
The Spaniard has flittered in and out of the team but often looked a cut above those around him when he has featured regularly for Rafa Benitez.
Merino’s future at the club may well depend on whether or not the club can retain their place in the Premier League.
The Magpies are four points above the drop zone with just eight games left to play this season.
