Newcastle are reportedly still a potential destination for Eibar midfielder Dani Garcia this summer.
It was reported some months ago that the Magpies were keen on signing the midfielder from the La Liga outfit but no move came to fruition during the January transfer window.
However, according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS, Saints remain keen as Garcia continues to ponder his future with Eibar. The 27-year-old is a key player for his side, though, and they will undoubtedly be desperate to keep hold of him.
Although, Garcia’s contract with Eibar does indeed expire at the end of the season, meaning he is able to join a club for free should the player agree terms with a potential suitor.
Athletic Bilbao have been most heavily linked with a move for Garcia but it’s claimed by AS that the “temptation” of a move to the Premier League remains.
