Newcastle United are desperate to sign Kenedy from Chelsea in the summer, according to the Mirror, but may be forced to part with a sizable sum if they are to convince the Blues to sell.
Kenedy joined the Magpies on loan until the end of the season in January as he looked to secure first-team football away from Stamford Bridge. Rafa Benitez has provided him with this and his decision has paid dividends, with Kenedy flourishing.
The 22-year-old netted a brace in Newcastle’s recent 3-0 win over Southampton and is already establishing himself a fans’ favourite.
However, if the Mirror’s report is to be believed, Newcastle will need to stump up a big fee worth £15m if they are to sign Kenedy on a permanent basis from Chelsea.
Kenedy’s recent performances have helped Newcastle temporarily escape the risks of relegation from the Premier League. The Magpies will undoubtedly be eager to keep hold of him for years to come.
