Newcastle could snap up Martin Dubravka permanently for £3.5m by the end of this Premier League campaign, the Chronicle reports.
The Slovakian goalkeeper joined Newcastle on loan from Sparta Prague in January and caught the eye on his debut against Manchester United yesterday, as he didn’t fail to impress Rafa Benitez, the Newcastle faithful and many pundits.
Due to Newcastle’s precarious goalkeeper situation, the Magpies may want to seal a deal for Dubravka soon so they can secure the position for next season.
Newcastle still have the likes of Karl Darlow, whose contract situation is still unsolved; Rob Elliot who wants regular football and Matz Sels, who is on loan at Anderlecht, on their books, so they may want to seal a new number one before thinking of moving on others.
They also still have Freddie Woodman, who is on loan at Aberdeen but is expected to be battle for the number one spot at the club in the future.
