Spanish striker Joselu pulled a goal back to hand Newcastle a home point against a resilient Swansea City side on Saturday.
Jordan Ayew had put the visitors in front on the hour mark before Joselu equalised minutes later.
Rafa Benitez wil feel like the result was two points dropped as he looks keep Newcastle United in the top flight.
The Magpies are now just three points above the drop zone.
Here is how we rated each player’s performance at full time.
Karl Darlow - 6
Was far from his best but he was unlucky to get beat by the Ayew’s goal.
DeAndre Yedlin - 6
The young defender held his own defensively against the Welsh side.
Jamaal Lascelles - 6
With Gareth Southgate in attendance he would have been hoping for a better performance.
Ciaran Clark - 6
Struggled to deal with the pace of Swansea’s forward line, which isn’t overly quick in itself.
Paul Dummett - 7
One of Dummett’s better displays this season, solid both going forward and defensively.
Jonjo Shelvey - 5
Let himself down after a good performance when he was substituted.
Mo Diame - 5
Struggled in midfield and was fortunate not to see red during the first half.
Matt Ritchie - 6
His final ball was uncharacteristically bad against Swansea, struggled to create anything meaningful.
Ayoze Perez - 7
Continued where he left off against Luton. The Spaniard was creative going forward and was unlucky not to score.
Christian Atsu - 7
Atsu was United’s best attacking option for large spells of the game.
Dwight Gayle - 5
Gayle should have done better in front of goal and could have easily scored two or three.
Subs:
Joselu – 7, did exactly what Gayle didn’t and put the ball in the back of the net.
Mikel Merino – 5, the Spaniard didn’t have a lot of time to make any meaningful impact.
