Newcastle United are working on their first signing of the January window as they open talks with Young Boys over a possible move for Yannick Toure, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The 17-year-old is a top talent around Europe and is widely sought following his rise within the Switzerland youth set up, he also has a Swiss passport due to him playing there currently.
There has been a host of clubs who have shown interest in the player, including Arsenal and Juventus but it appears the North East club have moved ahead of other potential suitors.
It was revealed in November that Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez would have been keen for a move for the player and it now appears that they have got the green light to go ahead and enter talks with the Senegal-born striker.
The striker would be seen as a long-term investment by the club and is likely to join up with the club’s youth team before attempting to work his way into Benitez’s first-team plans.
