Newcastle complete permanent Merino deal
Newcastle United have completed a deal to sign Mikel Merino permanently after an impressive start to the season.
Sky Sports reports that the player has signed a five-year deal at the club after initially joining on loan from Borussia Dortmund.

Merino has impressed in the heart of Newcastle’s midfield, providing a touch of class to the newly-promoted side.
As part of the deal that saw him move to the Premier League on loan, Merino had the option to make his move to St James’ Park permanent.
With the midfielder appearing to have no long-term future at Borussia Dortmund, he can now hope to settle in Newcastle and play a key role in their bid to avoid relegation.
