The midfielder’s side took on Vitoria midway through the month in a Europa League group stage clash. The spoils were shared on the day, as a 1-1 draw was played out by the two sides. Berisha scored Salzburg’s goal.
It’s claimed that a plethora of clubs were in attendance as they watched over the match, but both Newcastle and Leicester’s primary focus of the assignment was Salzburg’s 24-year-old midfielder Berisha.
The Kosovo international has made eight appearances for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga so far this season, and has chipped in with a reasonable total of three assists.
Berisha has gone from strength to strength at Salzburg since his move from Viking, and it looks as though Newcastle are keen to move in for him.
