Palace may be forced to sell Newcastle target Townsend
Newcastle transfer target Andros Townsend could be sold by Crystal Palace this summer, with the Eagles looking to raise funds.
The Mail Online reports that the former Inter and Ajax boss is determined to bring in a number of players before the summer window slams shuts but may need to sell first.
Rafa Benitez tried to sign the player during the January transfer window of the last season and have also look into a possible deal this summer.
Townsend has been linked with a move away from Palace for some time, with Newcastle holding a long-standing interest in signing the player.
Transfers have been the main subject of discussion among Newcastle fans this summer with Benitez desperate to spend as he aims to secure safety in the Premier League upon the Magpies’ return to the top flight.
De Boer has only been able to sign Jairo Riedewald on a permanent basis while Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have both joined on loan from Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
