Newcastle linked with Wilshere move
Newcastle have reportedly made an approach to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.
According to a report from the Mirror today, the Magpies are keen to bolster their midfield options with the addition of Wilshere, who has fallen out of favour at Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger clearly favours other options ahead of him and after suffering a fractured leg while on loan at Bournemouth last season, his hopes of establishing himself at the Emirates Stadium took yet another blow.
However, it’s stated by the Mirror that Rafa Benitez is keen to offer him the chance to revitalise his career at St James’ Park.
Wilshere has been linked with moves to both Swansea and Sampdoria in recent times, with him having just one year remaining on his deal in North London.
It’s claimed in the report that Arsenal want to take £20m from the sale of Wilshere, which could prove to be an unrealistic demand.
The Mirror also reinforce Newcastle’s desire to land Gunners outcast Lucas Perez this summer.
