According to reports, Newcastle are going to offer Aleksandar Mitrovic to Lyon for £16m.

Mitrovic joined The Magpies in 2015 for £9m from Anderlecht but only two years later, doubt has been cast over his future at St James’ Park.

Lyon are looking to replace Alexandre Lacazette who made a big money move to Arsenal this summer and Mitrovic could be their man, even though they have completely different playing styles.

Newcastle are apparently looking to offload the Serbian as they embark on their Premier League return in the 2017/18 season, although it looks like they are unwilling to lose him on the cheap due to the inflated prices which are being spent in the transfer market this summer.

In total in his professional career, Mitrovic has made 223 appearances, scoring 84 times and assisting 26 goals only at the age of 24, so Lyon would be gaining an experienced player at a young age if a deal does get done.
