Newcastle considering move for Burnley striker Barnes
Newcastle United are reportedly considering making a £6 million offer to sign Burnley striker Ashley Barnes this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror today, the Magpies are weighing up a move for the 27-year-old, who has been in good form so far this season for the Clarets.
Newcastle may be looking to add proven Premier League quality to their squad this summer, along with added depth in their squad, and Barnes could very well be a plausible option if they choose to pursue their interest in him.
However, there may be a reluctance for Burnley to sell one of their three first-team strikers, given that star man Andre Gray is being touted with a move away given the short time remaining on his deal at the club.
Barnes has stepped up on a number of occasions for Sean Dyche’s side this season and at just £6m, would be a shrewd addition for Newcastle.
