Crystal Palace are rumoured to have triggered Andros Townsend’s £10.5 million release clause, according to part of an article by The Guardian.

Andros came to Newcastle in the second half of the 2015-2016 season, and in doing so, made thirteen appearances in the famous black and white, scoring four impressive goals in the process. However, he was unable to save the Magpies from relegation.

Andros has a release clause in his contract which says that he may leave if Newcastle are offered more than £10.5 million, and having been one of the best performers in the team last season, the fans would be reluctant to see him go.

However, it would depend on what league he wants to play in. He would do well in the Championship, however, he would have more press in the Premier League. He would be good wherever he goes.

Newcastle would be reluctant to offload Townsend, with him signing on an initial five-and-a-half year contract, and only playing under six months of it. However, the release clause would probably overrule that.
