Newcastle United have received a boost in their pursuit of Jonjo Shelvey, as fresh reports surface revealing Swansea City would be prepared to offload the England international in January.
The Mirror understand Shelvey’s relationship with club chairman Huw Jenkins has broken down following the dismissal of Gary Monk last month, and he is now prepared to depart from the Liberty Stadium when the transfer window opens next week.

Jenkins would be willing to let the 23-year-old depart, but only if he can find a potential suitor prepared to pay the ‘right price’.
Newcastle are long-term admirers of Shelvey and are in pole position to land the Swansea midfielder next month, as per The Mirror.
Shelvey has netted once and assisted twice in 15 appearances this season and would be a welcome addition to Steve McClaren’s side, which currently lacks both quality and depth in the centre of the park.

Bordeaux star Henri Saivet is another central midfielder believed to be on Newcastle’s radar, with The Chronicle stating that a deal could be struck for the Senegal international early in the January window.
