Under-fire Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren has received no guarantees from the club’s hierarchy over his future on Tyneside.
According to the Mirror, McClaren is under a two-game review by Managing Director Lee Charnley and infamous club Chairman Mike Ashley, following a series of abysmal displays.
With the struggling Magpies coming up against high-flying Liverpool this Sunday, followed by Spurs next weekend, it isn’t looking good for McClaren and company.

Newcastle sit in an atrocious 19th position, and with relegation looking increasingly likely as the weeks go by, it may be time for change.
Since his appointment in the summer, the fans have witnessed a mere two wins from their beloved club’s opening 14 games in the Premier League.
It is believed that Lee Charnley held emergency talks with McClaren earlier this week, following a harrowing 5-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

When asked about whether or not he had been given any guarantees regarding his position as head coach, McClaren said:
It’s football. It’s football, so you never know. You go into every job knowing the impatience of football and you need results.
Will we be given time? We need to get results to keep that going, we know that.
Although the plan put in place by the hierarchy is to obtain a manager for the long-term, if the poor results and performances continue, then their hands will be forced.
Steve McClaren’s time at Newcastle United could be up, if his disgruntled ensemble don’t dig deep and get the required results.
